Annual calibration costs are an expensive portion of every predictive maintenance program and motor repair shop budget. With the cost of down time, shipping, damage to sensitive equipment it can easily get into five figures – and that doesn’t even include the cost of the calibration. Self-certification aids are a helpful tool for this costly dilemma. Keep the electrical test equipment in your shop running at manufacturer specification without the hassle of sending it to the manufacturer.   Quickly check the instrument between annual calibrations to ensure accuracy of numbers. Save time and money and lessen the burden of annual calibration.  Benefits of using this type of equipment are quickly realized. They include: -Huge time savings: No waiting on shipping or product manufacturer to clear schedule for calibration. Instruments can be returned to productivity same day – not upsetting production or quality control schedule -Cost savings: Greatly reduced production downtime due to no shipping for annual calibration verification. Instruments can be put back into operation within hours instead of days or weeks -Ability to audit internal equipment function (ie: before every shift or monthly vs. yearly). Make sure equipment stays in manufacturing specs between annual certifications -No risk of shipping damage to expensive capital equipment. Shipping damage can add thousands to the cost of calibration and lingering unknown damages can create future problems with the instrument -Verify multiple instrument readings to ensure viable results at different plant locations. Understand the results between instruments to clarify accuracy and repeatability required in company policies -Verify performance of rental equipment to ensure accurate and repeatable testing results -NIST tractability to provide compliance with company policies, contract requirements and other customer questions concerning company compliance issues -1000:1 voltage divider to easily verify performance of higher voltage test equipment -Less disruption of employees and company processes for calibration purposes
